LinkedIn is such an easy win. It may not be sexy like Instagram or trendy like TikTok, but LinkedIn is reliable, productive, and efficient… like your Airport Dad.

People frequently tell me I’m ‘always on Linkedin’ and ‘really active on LinkedIn.’ But I spend less than 5 mins a day on LinkedIn, and I’m often re-purposing content from my other channels.

The fact is that there are more than 930 million LinkedIn users, but only around 2% of people are actually creating and posting content.

That means a ton of eyeballs with very little competition. It only takes 1 or 2 posts a week to stay active, make connections, and build your brand. YES PLEASE!

Here’s how I would get started:

🍋 Figure out what your goal is on LinkedIn. Is it to connect with your peers? Build your B2B business? Connect with your customers?

🍋 Decide HOW. Personal pages do exceedingly better than brand pages, so if your goal is to build your brand, start posting personally but share your take on your brand’s achievements and milestones.

🍋 Optimize your business page and profile.

🍋 Decide on a sustainable content and engagement strategy. I start my day with 5 mins of engaging every business day and share content 1-2 times a week.

🍋 Join networking and interest groups relevant to your postings so you can re-share content there.

LinkedIn is like other platforms because it likes videos, albums, and status updates. But it’s different in how dependable it is. I have never worried about the LinkedIn algorithm or changes that mean I have to learn a whole new feature.

But beware, I get a ton of spam in messages and requests. Be specific in who is worth connecting to, and don’t be afraid to decline invites that are simply sales pitches.
